Published quarterly in March, June, September, and December, the Journal of Security Strategies (ISSN: 1305-4740) is a double-blind peer-reviewed and interdisciplinary journal.
The Journal was first published by the Strategic Research Institute (SRI) of Turkish War Colleges in 2005 and has continued its publication life uninterrupted since then. Its publishing rights have been transferred to the Atatürk Institute of Strategic Studies (AISS) established under Turkish National Defence University in 2016. Published appropriately to the scientific criteria and on time starting from its very first issue, the Journal of Security Strategies has become an international peer-reviewed journal as of December 2011.
Our Journal is now indexed in EBSCO (Academic Search Complete), International Security and Counter-Terrorism Reference Centre (ISCTRC), Central and Eastern Online Library (CEEOL), Index Copernicus, SOBİAD Citation Index, ASOS Social Sciences Index, and ARASTIRMAX Scientific Publication Index as well as in Social Sciences and Humanities Database within ULAKBİM (National Academic Network and Information Centre), which is under TÜBİTAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). Besides, we do our best to be indexed in Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), which indexes only a few social sciences journals from our country.
The Journal of Security Strategies welcomes articles on international security and related interdisciplinary issues under the general field of social sciences and humanities (including but not limited to areas such as security, strategy, international relations, regional studies, war studies, political science, military history, defence management, intelligence, economics and administrative sciences, law of war/armed conflict, sociology, philosophy, and geography). We accept articles written in English, German, or French, as well as in Turkish.
